I have been writing tunes since high school and I find it energizing, frustrating, boring and fascinating all at the same time. While the process of creating drum parts is tedious... sort of like counting grains of sand, argh! Writing the guitar parts is fun but not as much fun as linking it all together with a cool melody. The lyric writing is also arduous but very encouraging because whenever I feel like there is nothing left to say, something clicks and I find what I need! Anyway, the process is a blast, so I hope you like the songs as much as I like making them up.
Although my influences are varied in style and content, they are mostly musicians who are (were)unique in their work. Musicians I enjoy hearing include: LVB, Primus, Claude Debussy, Faith No More, Toru Takemitsu, Bjork, James Taylor, Dinosaur Jr., Astrud Gilberto, Willie Nelson, The Romantics, The Cars, Metallica, The Beach Boys, Slayer, Maurice Ravel, Alban Berg, Steely Dan, Baden Powell, Sonic Youth, Steve Reich, Jamiroquai, Ben Folds, Michael Jackson, Sade, Pearl Jam, Nick Drake, Nirvana, Sepultura, Cat Stevens, Foo Fighters, AC/DC, The Police, Jim Croce, Ozzy Osborne, The Assad Brothers, Screaming Females, Julian Bream, Weird Al Yankovic, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, and so on...
